Denver Water will replace a water main and service line on Ellsworth Avenue from South Albion Street to South Clermont Street. This project is scheduled to begin in mid January, 2019. The attached door hanger has been distributed to all residents in the project area informing them of the project. The contact for this project is Eddie Hernandez, neighbors may contact him with questions about the project at 303-628-6563 between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Denver Water estimates this project will take one month to complete. Crews will do their best to complete the project as scheduled; however, projects are occasionally delayed by unmarked underground utilities, weather and emergency water main breaks. Water service emergencies, such as main breaks in other parts of Denver Water’s system may take precedence over this project. The crew may leave at a moment’s notice to work on those emergencies and may not return the following day.
We also have this Jan 18 update from the consulting company handling the Stormwater Pipe Installation project:
The stormwater project is closing in on the finish line. The underground storm drain and all the new storm inlets are installed.
Temporary asphalt patching, however, has been delayed because Denver Water is taking advantage of the street work to install a new water line from Albion to Birch Streets to replace the old water line that dates back to 1928. Denver Water has indicated that water line work should start week of 1/22, then wrap up on or before 2/14.
Once the new water line is in, the curb, gutter and sidewalk will be replaced, and the street asphalt temporarily patched. Then, when the weather starts to get warmer in the early spring, sod will be installed and Ellsworth Ave. will be repaved from Colorado Blvd to Birch Street. All of this is, of course, weather dependent.
Traffic control will probably be much as it was for the stormwater pipe installation, with Denver Water closing two blocks at a time to put in the new water line. Thanks for your patience with this project Hilltop Neighbors. You are going to have all new pipes under Ellsworth Ave!
