Denver’s New Single-Use Condiments & Service Ware Ordinance begins January 2022
#SkipTheStuff ordinance reduces the amount of waste generated by single-use items
What: Denver’s #SkipTheStuff ordinance requires all retail food establishments (RFEs) to provide single-use condiments and single-use service ware only upon request by a customer.
Who: This ordinance applies to all RFEs. This includes but is not limited to:
- Restaurants
- Third-party delivery companies
- Retail food establishments as defined in section 23-2(30) of the revised municipal code
All of us, customers! Let’s say no to single-use condiments and service ware, and instead use what we already have at home. Together, we can play a part in reducing waste.
Why: The ordinance is intended to reduce the amount of waste generated by single-use items, change customer habits regarding single-use items, and help restaurants reduce unnecessary costs.
When: The #SkipTheStuff Ordinance went into effect earlier this month.
How: Visit the ordinance webpage to learn more and help curb Denver’s waste.
