Dear Hilltop Neighbors –

With the recognition that the development at 9th and Colorado will result in additional traffic volume and safety concerns, the Colorado Blvd Health District (CBHD) and Councilwoman Mary Beth Susman supported the formation of a CBHD Traffic, Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety subcommittee.

Our subcommittee is mandated to proactively work with the City of Denver Public Works Dept. of Transportation and Mobility. The subcommittee used a prioritization process to identify a few locations that require immediate attention emphasizing those streets that are used by children and families walking, biking or traveling to area schools, including Steck, Hill and Good Shepherd.

This process resulted in a set of recommendations from the City on solutions that they could implement in the near term to address traffic volumes, speeding and safety. These proposed solutions had to be within the City’s current budget, capability, and are focused on improving safety in school traffic corridors in the section of our neighborhood adjacent to the 9+CO redevelopment. We are requesting your input to help inform the city on which, if any, or all of these recommendations should move to implementation.  We hope that additional, future solutions will flow from your comments, concerns and ideas on the survey.

Please complete this short survey which includes descriptions and images of the proposed traffic safety measures before 11/10/17.

We greatly appreciate your input as this will help us respond to the City with our neighborhood’s direct feedback on these proposals.  If you would like to volunteer to work with this committee, please indicate that in the comments section and provide us with contact information.
