To reunite Coloradans with lost or forgotten assets.

Recently, State Treasurer Dave Young launched a pilot program that allows the Treasurer’s Office to proactively send unclaimed property checks valued at less than $100 to claimants without requiring them fill out paperwork.

The Treasurer’s Office had found that people with small dollar claims often dropped their claims because the process was onerous and are now following the lead of other states who have launched similar programs in order to make reuniting Coloradans with their property a faster, more efficient process. See this interview with CBS Denver about the pilot project here.
