The Colorado Boulevard Health Care District will have a special meeting to discuss the redevelopment of the former Health Sciences Center site at 9th and Colorado Boulevard on Tuesday, June 26th at 4pm at Christ Church United Methodist at 690 Colorado Blvd. They will be discussing further site development plans with particular focus and discussion of the potential large format retailer.

 Discussions and work with Atlanta-based developer Fuqua (formerly Sembler) have been going on since last spring – including an amendment to the General Development Plan which lays out streets, open space and design guidelines. Recently, Fuqua announced that they are strongly considering a Walmart for the site. 

The Colorado Boulevard Healthcare District is a consortium of neighborhood representatives (Hilltop, Mayfair, Bellevue-Hale, Congress Park, and CHUN) as well as hospital representatives (Rose, National Jewish, the VA, and CU). The CBHD serves in an advisory capacity on planning and development issues in the area.
