Like many of you, our family received its annual statement for our property taxes in late January.

The Denver Department of Housing Stability offers several resources to answer questions you may have about property tax relief, help keep you in your home or make accessibility modifications to your home.

The Denver Property Tax Relief Program provides a partial refund of property taxes paid, or the equivalent in rent, to qualifying renters and homeowners. Applications may be submitted starting May 1 of each year. Call 720-944-4347 or go online to www.denvergov.org/propertytaxrelief.

The State of Colorado offers a property tax deferral program for seniors and active military personnel, as well as a tax exemption program for seniors and disabled veterans.  Call 303-866-2441 or Colorado.gov/pacific/treasury/senior-and-veteran-property-tax-programs.
