  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? March 2013; best decision ever!! We live in the best neighborhood in the city.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I love being involved in my community and giving back.  It allows me an opportunity to meet new people and be involved in projects to better our neighborhood. It’s also a great way to get to know my neighbors better and feel connected. I’m part of the community events and membership committees. I’m also the committee chair for the Halloween Parade.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Running, biking , gardening and spending time in the mountains doing all the things with my family!
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. I love most restaurants in Cherry Creek North and Park Burger is a family staple. You can find our family in Robinson Park playing at the playground or sledding the hills after a snow!
  5. Fun fact. I raced triathlons for 10 years and I’ve completed 5 Ironmans and 20 half-Ironmans

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? 2005, most recently.
  2. Why are you on the board? I believe neighborhood advocacy and organizing are very important. In northern Virginia, I was president of my civic association as we faced off with the county park system and school board to save 12 houses from the surprise demolition plan intended to expand fields. Instead, we stopped the demolitions, and helped craft a reasonable alternative that was adopted.
  3. What committee(s) are you a part of?  Zoning and Nominations.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. The Rotary, Pete's Grocery and Flowers
  5. Fun fact. I am very talented on crutches.
Sue Bollman

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I have lived in Hilltop since 1996 and have seen this neighborhood change and grow.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? The reason I am on the board is because of the threat to our corner of Hilltop We opposed the original plan for the church property at Leetsdale and Colorado when developers proposed a 105 unit apartment building with some retail. After negotiating for several years we agreed on duplex units. With the new developer, I think we are on track to have a site with 19 units that more appropriately fits into our neighborhood. We are now ready for demolition of the old church.  I am on the zoning committee.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Until the last few years I was involved in politics and campaigns. Also did short distance triathlons.  Now mainly enjoy swimming, cooking, drinking wine, walking, reading. Thinking about sky diving after knee replacement.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. I love Satchels on 6th and La Merise.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I got involved with neighborhood issues in 2012 as the 9th & Colorado redevelopment project was going through a difficult period. I learned how neighbors united behind a cause can be a powerful force. I serve on the Finance Committee.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Gardening, Cooking and enjoying the best of Denver.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. Walking my dog at Cranmer Park and growing tomatoes at Steck Community Garden.
  5. Fun fact. I’ve traveled to Vietnam 8 times and counting.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I was very involved in Steck Elementary and when my children moved on to middle school I wanted to keep volunteering in our neighborhood so I joined the Hilltop Board.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? I like to road and mountain bike in the warmer months and snowboard in the winter.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. As a realtor that specializes in Hilltop, I thoroughly enjoy touring homes for sale in our beautiful neighborhood.
  5. Fun fact. I have two adopted boys.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I joined the board to learn about my community and make it a better place to live.  I am on the Zoning Committee. 
  3. What are some of your hobbies? I am currently training for a triathlon, play golf, and attend as many Colorado Symphony events as I am able. 
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. My family and I like to bike to 9th + CO for dinner.  I am a big fan of the breakfast burritos at Basil Doc’s. 
  5. Fun fact. My son and I hike the Colorado trail, one week per summer, starting off where we finished the summer before, and will complete the whole trail before he goes away to college. 
Larry Donovan

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I moved to Hilltop with my family in 1971 from Connecticut and New York City and joined the Association a few years later.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I have been a member since the mid 70's and was President at one time. I have been involved with real estate issues for the Association throughout the years monitoring numerous surrounding developments that have impacted Hilltop, especially traffic. I represent the Association and other neighborhoods to the east on the Cherry Creek Steering Committee and was a founding member of the Cherry Creek Chamber of Commerce.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Having played soccer in college, I became involved with the soccer program at the park and coached numerous teams.
Lisa Glauser

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I have lived in Hilltop twice. First time in 2007 for four years and then moved back here in 2017.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I love being a part of the Hilltop Neighborhood Association’s Board and have thoroughly enjoyed co-chairing the Hilltop Halloween Parade the past several years.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Being with my children and husband, watching their sports, gardening, cooking, listening to music and going to concerts.
Tomas Hart

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I moved to Denver in 1985 and moved to Hilltop in 1999.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I became interested when there was a proposal to re-zone 30-50 S Colorado Blvd that would have allowed over a hundred units. I became active in fighting that effort and was eventually invited to chair the Zoning Committee.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Reading, hiking, family, travel and walking and playing with my dog.  I’m also on the boards of Historic Denver and Docomomo Colorado.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. My favorite neighborhood activity is walking my dog. I love meeting my neighbors (and their dogs) and looking at the cool, usually mid-modern, houses in the neighborhood.
  5. Fun fact. I grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin and, yes, have my one share of Packer’s stock hanging on my office wall.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? We make our neighborhood better if we get involved, we help out, and we get to know our neighbors – that’s why I wanted to be a part of board. I’m the chair of the board for 2022.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? I like the opera, live theatre, abstract art (particularly Colorado artists), midcentury architecture (like our 1955 house) and travel. When I need a great new novel to read (I prefer fiction) my go-to is the Booker Prize list.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. The Rotary is my favorite neighborhood restaurant and the croissants at La Fillette are perfect. I love Pete’s Grocer.
  5. Fun fact. Colorado native, DU graduate. Serving on not-for-profit boards is another great way to give back – currently, I’m on the board of Vivent Health and Curious Theatre.

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I moved into Hilltop with my husband, Rick in January of 2020.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I am on the board because I want to help keep Hilltop the special place that draws us all in.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Some of my hobbies include political and civic engagement, real estate and skiing.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. I would say that Locanda Del Borgo is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. You can always find me out for a walk with my dogs, a Boston Terrier named Obi and Chocolate Lab named Gracie.
  5. Fun fact. I am a general aviation pilot!

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? The previous owner of our house was on the board and invited me. I love building community and creating opportunities for people to connect and felt being part of the Hilltop Neighborhood Association was a great place to do that. I am involved in the membership and events committee, specifically Family Movie Nights. It is important for me to do my part to really get to know the neighborhood and the people living in it.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? I like to crochet, bake and find new, creative outlets.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. Matcha Lattes at Aviano in the mornings and walks through the “secret passage” on 2nd Ave that leads you to Cranmer Park.
  5. Fun fact. We purchased our house in Denver over FaceTime from California during the pandemic.
Ken Malo

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? Moved to Hilltop way back when the world was young … approx. 1972. 
  2. Why are you on the board? I was curious about what was happening and what goes on in the neighborhood, and always will be. I am also a Realtor so that added to the equation.
  3. What committees are you on? The July Community Picnic & Fireworks function and the Zoning committee.
  4. What are some of your hobbies?  Our sports teams: Broncos, Buffs, Avalanche, and college and pro Lacrosse. Also occasional skiing, hiking, biking, and walking with my wife.
  5. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood.  Why lie, I like the olde funky local bars and restaurants that are quickly disappearing: Zaidys, the Bonnie Brae Tavern, Choppers, the Cherry Cricket.
  6. Fun fact.  I love old cars, especially the vintage Mustang convertibles and I have one…a 1966 navy blue one…the last year of the original body style.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I am on the Board because of my appointed position to represent Hilltop on the Cherry Creek Steering Committee. And, I enjoy being involved with the neighborhood in this meaningful way.  I serve on the Zoning Committee.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Traveling, golf, skiing, working out and architecture.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. Favorite restaurants are Sol and Hillstone in Cherry Creek and the College Inn and Kochi Café in Hilltop. I love walking around the Hilltop/Hale/Mayfair neighborhoods looking at all of the beautiful architecture.
  5. Fun fact. I am an architect and have practiced in Denver for 30 years. I specialize in healthcare and criminal justice projects. One of my favorite projects is the Lindsay Flanigan Courthouse at the Denver Justice Center. Our daughter attended Steck Elementary School and we named one of our cats Amos Steck.  He was a beloved neighborhood cat.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you involved in? I'm on the Board because I would like to bring more diversity to the Hilltop Board. I am a Latina and I know there are some Latinos here in Hilltop so I'd like to represent our culture and hopefully bring some different perspectives to the Board. Maybe they  will let me organize a Mariachis at the Sundial picnic or a Dia de Los Muertos parade!  I  was on the 4th of July committee but not sure if that will still exist next year so I have to find something new to help with!
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Beatboxing, Cosplay, Stone skipping
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. Bar Car on 8th. Activities: Hang out at the sundial to see how many people say hello to me.  If they don't say hello, I give them a card that says, "Today is say hello to a Neighbor Day!" 
  5. Fun fact. I give out more cards in a day than you can imagine. Also, former KGB officials once took me to a secret undisclosed location, blindfolded, to discuss security around a bioweapons laboratory (for real) somewhere in central Kazakhstan.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I love being involved in the neighborhood and working to make our community better. I serve on the bylaws committee.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? I love to travel, enjoy theater (DCPA!) and am a Varsity High School Football Official.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. I love our beautiful parks and scootering and biking around the neighborhood with my wife and daughter.
  5. Fun fact. My great-great-grandparents came to Denver in the 1890s and I am the fifth generation of my family living in Denver!

I joined the Association right after we moved into the neighborhood and the board in 2012 because of an interest in the nearby 9+CO re-development project. I am interested in parks, land use and transportation issues and I manage content for the Association website. If you have a story or a suggestion for an article or improvement for the website, please contact me here! 3. What committee(s) are you a part of? July Community Picnic Planning, Zoning, and By-Laws Update. I am also one of two of our Assn's delegates to INC - the Inter Neighborhood Cooperation organization for all the RNOs & HOAs in Denver. 4. What are some of your hobbies? Mah Jongg games with friends in the neighborhood, glass crafting and gardening - I have a plot at the Steck/DUG Community Garden. 5. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. La Fillette at 8th & Birch St - the best croissants in Denver, Postino's Happy Hour and Gaijin Omakase because of the mystery and their commitment to only the best. I hope to win the lottery and spend the entire evening there... 6. Fun fact about you. I have two kilns in my basement along with glass burners & tanks - I like melting glass!

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? With young kids in the mix, I wanted to become more involved with the local neighborhood and the opportunities and issues that we face.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? We enjoy many of the classic Colorado activities, from skiing in the winter to rock climbing and biking in the summer.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. Our favorite neighborhood restaurant would have to be Hopdoddy.  Love their burgers but also can’t overlook the fried chicken.
  5. Fun fact. When my wife and I were planning our wedding, we quickly became overwhelmed by the process. Wanting an enjoyable and stress-free event, we eloped to New Zealand, leaving family and friends behind.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I'm Chair of Membership. I joined the board to get more involved in my community. I am in my 3rd career now in Real Estate but in a previous life in executive search, I travelled a lot and never branched out except to walk our Golden Retriever on the parkway. Now I have gotten to know so many people and those relationships are what I enjoy most.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? We have a cabin near Fairplay that I could say is a hobby. That and our 1936 Tudor always present opportunities for remodeling! Always a project! When I'm not deep in plaster dust, I enjoy gardening, hiking and travel.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. We love being able to walk or bike to so many restaurants in the area now! We love Park Burger, High Point Creamery, and La Fillette when calories don't matter and when a healthy option is more the mood, we walk down to CAVA at 9Co. 9Co has been such a great new neighbor for Hilltop!

  4. What are some of your hobbies?  Our sports teams: Broncos, Buffs, Avalanche, and college and pro Lacrosse. Also occasional skiing, hiking, biking, and walking with my wife.

  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. Favorite restaurants are Sol and Hillstone in Cherry Creek and the College Inn and Kochi Café in Hilltop. I love walking around the Hilltop/Hale/Mayfair neighborhoods looking at all of the beautiful architecture.
  5. Fun fact. I am an architect and have practiced in Denver for 30 years. I specialize in healthcare and criminal justice projects. One of my favorite projects is the Lindsay Flanigan Courthouse at the Denver Justice Center. Our daughter attended Steck Elementary School and we named one of our cats Amos Steck.  He was a beloved neighborhood cat.

I am a Latina and I know there are some Latinos here in Hilltop so I'd like to represent our culture and hopefully bring some different perspectives to the Board. Maybe they  will let me organize a Mariachis at the Sundial picnic or a Dia de Los Muertos parade!  I  was on the 4th of July committee but not sure if that will still exist next year so I have to find something new to help with!

  5. Fun fact. I give out more cards in a day than you can imagine. Also, former KGB officials once took me to a secret undisclosed location, blindfolded, to discuss security around a bioweapons laboratory (for real) somewhere in central Kazakhstan.

I am in my 3rd career now in Real Estate but in a previous life in executive search, I travelled a lot and never branched out except to walk our Golden Retriever on the parkway. Now I have gotten to know so many people and those relationships are what I enjoy most.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? We have a cabin near Fairplay that I could say is a hobby. That and our 1936 Tudor always present opportunities for remodeling! Always a project! When I'm not deep in plaster dust, I enjoy gardening, hiking and travel.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. We love being able to walk or bike to so many restaurants in the area now! We love Park Burger, High Point Creamery, and La Fillette when calories don't matter and when a healthy option is more the mood, we walk down to CAVA at 9Co. 9Co has been such a great new neighbor for Hilltop!

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? March 2013; best decision ever!! We live in the best neighborhood in the city.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I love being involved in my community and giving back.  It allows me an opportunity to meet new people and be involved in projects to better our neighborhood. It’s also a great way to get to know my neighbors better and feel connected. I’m part of the community events and membership committees. I’m also the committee chair for the Halloween Parade.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Running, biking , gardening and spending time in the mountains doing all the things with my family!
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. I love most restaurants in Cherry Creek North and Park Burger is a family staple. You can find our family in Robinson Park playing at the playground or sledding the hills after a snow!
  5. Fun fact. I raced triathlons for 10 years and I’ve completed 5 Ironmans and 20 half-Ironmans

  2. Why are you on the board? I believe neighborhood advocacy and organizing are very important. In northern Virginia, I was president of my civic association as we faced off with the county park system and school board to save 12 houses from the surprise demolition plan intended to expand fields. Instead, we stopped the demolitions, and helped craft a reasonable alternative that was adopted.
  3. What committee(s) are you a part of?  Zoning and Nominations.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. The Rotary, Pete's Grocery and Flowers
  5. Fun fact. I am very talented on crutches.

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I have lived in Hilltop since 1996 and have seen this neighborhood change and grow.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? The reason I am on the board is because of the threat to our corner of Hilltop We opposed the original plan for the church property at Leetsdale and Colorado when developers proposed a 105 unit apartment building with some retail. After negotiating for several years we agreed on duplex units. With the new developer, I think we are on track to have a site with 19 units that more appropriately fits into our neighborhood. We are now ready for demolition of the old church.  I am on the zoning committee.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Until the last few years I was involved in politics and campaigns. Also did short distance triathlons.  Now mainly enjoy swimming, cooking, drinking wine, walking, reading. Thinking about sky diving after knee replacement.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. I love Satchels on 6th and La Merise.

  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. Walking my dog at Cranmer Park and growing tomatoes at Steck Community Garden.

  5. Fun fact. My son and I hike the Colorado trail, one week per summer, starting off where we finished the summer before, and will complete the whole trail before he goes away to college.

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I moved to Hilltop with my family in 1971 from Connecticut and New York City and joined the Association a few years later.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I have been a member since the mid 70's and was President at one time. I have been involved with real estate issues for the Association throughout the years monitoring numerous surrounding developments that have impacted Hilltop, especially traffic. I represent the Association and other neighborhoods to the east on the Cherry Creek Steering Committee and was a founding member of the Cherry Creek Chamber of Commerce.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Having played soccer in college, I became involved with the soccer program at the park and coached numerous teams.

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I have lived in Hilltop twice. First time in 2007 for four years and then moved back here in 2017.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I love being a part of the Hilltop Neighborhood Association’s Board and have thoroughly enjoyed co-chairing the Hilltop Halloween Parade the past several years.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Being with my children and husband, watching their sports, gardening, cooking, listening to music and going to concerts.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I became interested when there was a proposal to re-zone 30-50 S Colorado Blvd that would have allowed over a hundred units. I became active in fighting that effort and was eventually invited to chair the Zoning Committee.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Reading, hiking, family, travel and walking and playing with my dog.  I’m also on the boards of Historic Denver and Docomomo Colorado.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. My favorite neighborhood activity is walking my dog. I love meeting my neighbors (and their dogs) and looking at the cool, usually mid-modern, houses in the neighborhood.
  5. Fun fact. I grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin and, yes, have my one share of Packer’s stock hanging on my office wall.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? We make our neighborhood better if we get involved, we help out, and we get to know our neighbors – that’s why I wanted to be a part of board. I’m the chair of the board for 2022.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? I like the opera, live theatre, abstract art (particularly Colorado artists), midcentury architecture (like our 1955 house) and travel. When I need a great new novel to read (I prefer fiction) my go-to is the Booker Prize list.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. The Rotary is my favorite neighborhood restaurant and the croissants at La Fillette are perfect. I love Pete’s Grocer.

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? March 2013; best decision ever!! We live in the best neighborhood in the city.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I love being involved in my community and giving back.  It allows me an opportunity to meet new people and be involved in projects to better our neighborhood. It’s also a great way to get to know my neighbors better and feel connected. I’m part of the community events and membership committees. I’m also the committee chair for the Halloween Parade.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Running, biking , gardening and spending time in the mountains doing all the things with my family!
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. I love most restaurants in Cherry Creek North and Park Burger is a family staple. You can find our family in Robinson Park playing at the playground or sledding the hills after a snow!
  5. Fun fact. I raced triathlons for 10 years and I’ve completed 5 Ironmans and 20 half-Ironmans

  2. Why are you on the board? I believe neighborhood advocacy and organizing are very important. In northern Virginia, I was president of my civic association as we faced off with the county park system and school board to save 12 houses from the surprise demolition plan intended to expand fields. Instead, we stopped the demolitions, and helped craft a reasonable alternative that was adopted.

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I have lived in Hilltop since 1996 and have seen this neighborhood change and grow.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? The reason I am on the board is because of the threat to our corner of Hilltop We opposed the original plan for the church property at Leetsdale and Colorado when developers proposed a 105 unit apartment building with some retail. After negotiating for several years we agreed on duplex units. With the new developer, I think we are on track to have a site with 19 units that more appropriately fits into our neighborhood. We are now ready for demolition of the old church.  I am on the zoning committee.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Until the last few years I was involved in politics and campaigns. Also did short distance triathlons.  Now mainly enjoy swimming, cooking, drinking wine, walking, reading. Thinking about sky diving after knee replacement.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. I love Satchels on 6th and La Merise.

I learned how neighbors united behind a cause can be a powerful force. I serve on the Finance Committee.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Gardening, Cooking and enjoying the best of Denver.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. Walking my dog at Cranmer Park and growing tomatoes at Steck Community Garden.
  5. Fun fact. I’ve traveled to Vietnam 8 times and counting.

  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. As a realtor that specializes in Hilltop, I thoroughly enjoy touring homes for sale in our beautiful neighborhood.

  3. What are some of your hobbies? I am currently training for a triathlon, play golf, and attend as many Colorado Symphony events as I am able. 
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. My family and I like to bike to 9th + CO for dinner.  I am a big fan of the breakfast burritos at Basil Doc’s. 
  5. Fun fact. My son and I hike the Colorado trail, one week per summer, starting off where we finished the summer before, and will complete the whole trail before he goes away to college.

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I moved to Hilltop with my family in 1971 from Connecticut and New York City and joined the Association a few years later.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I have been a member since the mid 70's and was President at one time. I have been involved with real estate issues for the Association throughout the years monitoring numerous surrounding developments that have impacted Hilltop, especially traffic. I represent the Association and other neighborhoods to the east on the Cherry Creek Steering Committee and was a founding member of the Cherry Creek Chamber of Commerce.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Having played soccer in college, I became involved with the soccer program at the park and coached numerous teams.

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I have lived in Hilltop twice. First time in 2007 for four years and then moved back here in 2017.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I love being a part of the Hilltop Neighborhood Association’s Board and have thoroughly enjoyed co-chairing the Hilltop Halloween Parade the past several years.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Being with my children and husband, watching their sports, gardening, cooking, listening to music and going to concerts.

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? I moved to Denver in 1985 and moved to Hilltop in 1999.
  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I became interested when there was a proposal to re-zone 30-50 S Colorado Blvd that would have allowed over a hundred units. I became active in fighting that effort and was eventually invited to chair the Zoning Committee.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Reading, hiking, family, travel and walking and playing with my dog.  I’m also on the boards of Historic Denver and Docomomo Colorado.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. My favorite neighborhood activity is walking my dog. I love meeting my neighbors (and their dogs) and looking at the cool, usually mid-modern, houses in the neighborhood.
  5. Fun fact. I grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin and, yes, have my one share of Packer’s stock hanging on my office wall.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? We make our neighborhood better if we get involved, we help out, and we get to know our neighbors – that’s why I wanted to be a part of board. I’m the chair of the board for 2022.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? I like the opera, live theatre, abstract art (particularly Colorado artists), midcentury architecture (like our 1955 house) and travel. When I need a great new novel to read (I prefer fiction) my go-to is the Booker Prize list.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. The Rotary is my favorite neighborhood restaurant and the croissants at La Fillette are perfect. I love Pete’s Grocer.
  5. Fun fact. Colorado native, DU graduate. Serving on not-for-profit boards is another great way to give back – currently, I’m on the board of Vivent Health and Curious Theatre.

  3. What are some of your hobbies? Some of my hobbies include political and civic engagement, real estate and skiing.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. I would say that Locanda Del Borgo is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. You can always find me out for a walk with my dogs, a Boston Terrier named Obi and Chocolate Lab named Gracie.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? The previous owner of our house was on the board and invited me. I love building community and creating opportunities for people to connect and felt being part of the Hilltop Neighborhood Association was a great place to do that. I am involved in the membership and events committee, specifically Family Movie Nights. It is important for me to do my part to really get to know the neighborhood and the people living in it.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? I like to crochet, bake and find new, creative outlets.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. Matcha Lattes at Aviano in the mornings and walks through the “secret passage” on 2nd Ave that leads you to Cranmer Park.
  5. Fun fact. We purchased our house in Denver over FaceTime from California during the pandemic.

  1. What year did you move to Hilltop? Moved to Hilltop way back when the world was young … approx. 1972. 
  2. Why are you on the board? I was curious about what was happening and what goes on in the neighborhood, and always will be. I am also a Realtor so that added to the equation.
  3. What committees are you on? The July Community Picnic & Fireworks function and the Zoning committee.
  4. What are some of your hobbies?  Our sports teams: Broncos, Buffs, Avalanche, and college and pro Lacrosse. Also occasional skiing, hiking, biking, and walking with my wife.
  5. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood.  Why lie, I like the olde funky local bars and restaurants that are quickly disappearing: Zaidys, the Bonnie Brae Tavern, Choppers, the Cherry Cricket.
  6. Fun fact.  I love old cars, especially the vintage Mustang convertibles and I have one…a 1966 navy blue one…the last year of the original body style.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I am on the Board because of my appointed position to represent Hilltop on the Cherry Creek Steering Committee. And, I enjoy being involved with the neighborhood in this meaningful way.  I serve on the Zoning Committee.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? Traveling, golf, skiing, working out and architecture.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. Favorite restaurants are Sol and Hillstone in Cherry Creek and the College Inn and Kochi Café in Hilltop. I love walking around the Hilltop/Hale/Mayfair neighborhoods looking at all of the beautiful architecture.
  5. Fun fact. I am an architect and have practiced in Denver for 30 years. I specialize in healthcare and criminal justice projects. One of my favorite projects is the Lindsay Flanigan Courthouse at the Denver Justice Center. Our daughter attended Steck Elementary School and we named one of our cats Amos Steck.  He was a beloved neighborhood cat.

  2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you involved in? I'm on the Board because I would like to bring more diversity to the Hilltop Board. I am a Latina and I know there are some Latinos here in Hilltop so I'd like to represent our culture and hopefully bring some different perspectives to the Board. Maybe they  will let me organize a Mariachis at the Sundial picnic or a Dia de Los Muertos parade!  I  was on the 4th of July committee but not sure if that will still exist next year so I have to find something new to help with!

  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. Bar Car on 8th. Activities: Hang out at the sundial to see how many people say hello to me.  If they don't say hello, I give them a card that says, "Today is say hello to a Neighbor Day!" 
  5. Fun fact. I give out more cards in a day than you can imagine. Also, former KGB officials once took me to a secret undisclosed location, blindfolded, to discuss security around a bioweapons laboratory (for real) somewhere in central Kazakhstan.

La Fillette at 8th & Birch St - the best croissants in Denver, Postino's Happy Hour and Gaijin Omakase because of the mystery and their commitment to only the best.   2. Why are you on the board? What committee(s) are you a part of? I'm Chair of Membership. I joined the board to get more involved in my community. I am in my 3rd career now in Real Estate but in a previous life in executive search, I travelled a lot and never branched out except to walk our Golden Retriever on the parkway. Now I have gotten to know so many people and those relationships are what I enjoy most.
  3. What are some of your hobbies? We have a cabin near Fairplay that I could say is a hobby. That and our 1936 Tudor always present opportunities for remodeling! Always a project! When I'm not deep in plaster dust, I enjoy gardening, hiking and travel.
  4. Favorite neighborhood restaurants/bars/activities you like to do in the neighborhood. We love being able to walk or bike to so many restaurants in the area now! We love Park Burger, High Point Creamery, and La Fillette when calories don't matter and when a healthy option is more the mood, we walk down to CAVA at 9Co. 9Co has been such a great new neighbor for Hilltop!
