INC Ballot Forum
INC, the Inter Neighborhood Cooperation umbrella group for RNOs in Denver (your Hilltop Neighborhood Assn is a member of INC) will present a forum at its October 8 meeting on the following ballot issues:
- Denver Deserves Sidewalk — would propose charging property owners a fee for the construction and maintenance of sidewalks citywide.
- No Eviction without Representation — would raise taxes roughly $12 million (which would increase in future years based on the Colorado consumer price index) to provide free legal representation for people facing evictions.
- Waste No More — would require all Denver businesses, including restaurants, hospitals and hotels, to offer compost and recycling services.
- State Income Tax Rate Reduction Initiative — would reduce the state income tax rate from 4.55% to 4.40% for tax years commencing on or after January 1, 2022.
Both pro and con sides will be presented for each issue. You will be able to post questions with the Zoom chat function on the day of the forum, but we are also looking for questions to use in the Denver Decides / Channel 8 videos, which will be separately recorded. INC will be cooperating with Denver Channel 8 and the League of Women Voters in sponsoring the Denver Decides videos.
