Renovation of the Sundial Plaza at Cranmer Park
The Sundial Plaza at Cranmer Park is in need of major repairs resulting in plans to rebuild the entire structure. The project totals $1.3 million with $865,000 still needed to be raised before the project begins. An event sponsored by Denver Parks and Recreation was held at the park in May to kick off the fund raising efforts. A committee of representatives from the City and the neighborhood are meeting on a monthly basis to move the project forward. Councilwoman Susman is a new member of the committee. The monthly meetings are open to all interested parties. Additional information and local fund raising efforts will be shared in the coming months.
Denver Parks and Recreation continues to seek funds from the local foundation community in addition to corporate and community support.

Crime Prevention. It Starts with You.
The Hilltop neighborhood continues to have one of the lowest crime rates of any neighborhood in Denver.
A comparison of crimes from the first nine months of 2010 with the same period of 2011 shows a total reduction of 10.9%. Denver as a whole was up slightly at 3.7%. Most common crimes are still auto thefts and thefts from motor vehicles. Most commonly, stolen autos are older models of Jeeps and Hondas. Items stolen from motor vehicles include GPSs, cell phones, cameras, or any other electronic devices, purses and briefcases. Never leave anything in sight that even looks like it might contain something of value.
