We had a wonderful day and fantastic turnout at our annual Halloween Parade and Party! Thank you to all who joined us and to all our sponsors. Here are few very preliminary photos to share. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov 8th – we encourage everyone to exercise this right and privilege. Click here for more information on voting locations and resources if you are still pondering ballot issues.
Veteran’s Day is Friday, Nov 11th – the City salutes our veterans on Nov 5 with a parade and festival in Civic Center Park and Steck Elementary celebrates veterans on Thursday morning, Nov. 10th and invite you to join them. Click here for details and other Steck News.
Hilltop Neighborhood Assn news: Please join us on Tuesday, Nov. 15th at 6pm, as we hold our Annual Board of Directors Election & Membership Meeting. We invite you to get involved and join us in our mission to “to preserve, protect, and enhance” our neighborhood.
Coffee with a Cop is a great way to get to know our local officers and talk about topics that matter to you in a casual way. This month’s takes place on Wednesday, Nov 9th at Nixon’s Coffee House, 695 E. Louisiana Ave from 10am – noon.
Community Crime Prevention Coalition Meeting takes place Nov 30 at 6pm at Wings Over the Rockies – Join Chief Ron Thomas and District 3 Commander Carlos Aragon for an informative and interactive meeting regarding plans to enhance safety in Denver Police District 3. This meeting is free and open to all.
We were excited to learn of new 9+CO neighbors including Tarra, Zoma Lab, and (coming soon) Datura Home and a second location of the wonderful Le French Bakery & Cafe. A proper French cafe would not be a cafe without wine and so, voila! Info on the Public Hearing on their application to establish a liquor license is found here.

City Councilwoman Sawyer held a virtual community meeting on Nov 1 to hear ideas and input from neighbors on possible future improvements to Lindsley Park (located in the nearby Hale neighborhood). If you have comments/suggestions, please provide your input on the survey that will be open until Nov 27. Click here for survey & details.
Councilwoman Sawyer’s annual survey is open until the end of the year but don’t wait until the holidays distract you from sharing your concerns and ideas. Click here to participate. And the Council Office and DOTI issued this joint press release urging drivers to slow on 13th & 14th Avenues.
An American Elm at 6th & Clermont Parkway has been marked for removal. DOTI has notified concerned neighbors with the following explanation.

Help neighbors in need – Hill Middle School would love your help collecting non-perishable foods for families to enjoy while school is out during Thanksgiving week. Donations can be dropped off on the porch at 210 Elm Street (2nd and Elm) or you can bring them directly to the school until Nov 18. Thank you for supporting Hill!
STROLL Hilltop Appreciation Day – takes place Sunday, Nov 13, from 2 – 5 pm. Stroll Hilltop photographer, Noelle Williams, is offering 5-minute mini sessions at her studio for Hilltop families, couples, individuals, and/or your business staff. One digital file will be gifted, and complimentary mimosas and light snacks will be provided. A holiday themed set is provided. The sessions are first come, first serve, but please RSVP so they can plan accordingly and provide you with the address of the session.
Goathead Greg Walks with the High Line Canal Conservancy Saturday, Nov 19 Spotlighting one of many walks and projects the Conservancy is working on.
Denver Philharmonic Orchestra presents Out of the Blue on Nov 12 and featuring three works – first one inspired by a poem, then another by a poet and then finally Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, the “Emperor”.
